Routine

When we were back in Kaiserslautern, we sort of established a routine. Each morning, I would wake up and make Oliver breakfast. By nine-thirty, he would be off to work. Then, I’ll go do some house duties; make the bed, water the plants, occasionally mop and vacuum the floor and prepare dinner. Come to think of it, I sound like a housemaid. If I’m not doing all that, I’ll either be on the computer or be reading a book. Oliver usually comes back at five and we’ll walk to the groceries or to town. Sometimes to grab coffee or ice cream, other times, just for the sake of walking. While most nights, it was only Oliver and me having dinner while watching Grey’s together, other nights we have friends over for dinner or potluck followed by cakes and ice creams and a game of monopoly afterwards. They are crazy about monopoly or any board games for that matters and I am saying they, because usually, I’ll stay out of the game. I find it too time and energy consuming.  We spent a lot of time in the kitchen especially when we’re baking. Yes, we. Oliver has been upgraded from a mere ‘guinea pig’ to kitchen assistant and a good one he is. We’ve been meaning to try baking coffee bun. So, following an online recipe; we tried, in fact, a couple of times. It’s not easy and it didn’t turn out as to what we expected the first few times. But one day, we had a new kitchen machine Oliver ordered and bought online, so we tried making and baking again, this time, it was pretty close to original. We have yet to establish a date night. You know how couples designate one day in a week as a date night. I think it’s important to have a date night now and even later when children come into the picture. Just to keep the intimacy and sparks between two people, away from all the distractions; work, television, computer and even kids. We do however, designate Thursday as Spaghetti day; where Oliver gets to work the kitchen and cook us spaghetti. He makes good spaghetti. Of course, the Asian me always tend to add more flavors to food; cut chili with soya sauce on any Chinese dishes, mayo/thousand islands on potatoes and salad, etc. chili garlic seasoning to Oliver’s spaghetti which always brings him to question, ‘Not enough taste, kah?’ with a slightly offended look on his face. Anyways, I’m writing these down because I miss those days, those routines. But most of all, I just miss my husband.
He's so sexy when he cooks. :P

Dinner and Grey's Anatomy

I managed to get Oliver hooked on Grey's Anatomy and so we usually watch it during dinner time.

During blood spluttering scene....

Conversation 1
Him: Why would someone watched this during dinner, of all time?
Me: Should we stop it?
Him: No.
Me: -_-"

Conversation 2
Him: One way of dieting is to watch this so you wouldn't eat.

We continued eating.

WEDDING OF THE CENTURY!

Not mine of course, but the fairy tale, royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine. It's today and am counting down to watch the live coverage online as we speak. I'm excited to see Kate; her dress, her hair, her bouquet, what's her brides maids are going to wear and oh, get this, I heard she's doing her own make up! I wanted to do the same initially, like do my own make up. But then, I had this nightmare not too long ago. In my dream, it was my wedding day and I was doing my own make up and hair. Let's just say, it was DISASTROUS! I woke up in sweats and vowed there and then, I am going to get me a good make up and hair artist, which I've got by the way.

Still counting down. Tapping my feet. Googling for online live coverages of the royal wedding. Just in case one site slows down.

Good looking couple

Wishing Prince William and Kate all the blessings and love.

Okay, the royal wedding live is going to start very soon! Ta.

Life as it is

So here's the thing. I've been really occupied lately. In a good way. Besides work and preparation for the big day, I've been, get this, working out yo. So far, I've tried belly dancing. It was okay at first until the class got cancelled quite frequently because, I was the only student and the dance instructor wouldn't teach just one student. Heck, I don't know why. Then, I went on to Zumba and I'm still am. I love Zumba. It's fun and a great dance-cardio workout. I did try a few other things like pilates, jogging, still occasionally, and just this morning, I joined a bootcamp. But I have the feeling it's going to be a one off thingy because I'm just not cut out for military-style workout. Lots of squats and push ups. My shoulder is in pain. But hey, a workout is a workout. It's good and more importantly, it cuts down the calories and trim that waistline. I'm not quite satisfied, me think I still have those jiggly bits on my arm.

Anyways, I recently, discovered my mum's vintage wedding dress. I remember seeing it and trying it on when I was still a kid, like 6 or 7 and then it must have been tucked away in some old closets. But then, I came back one night and open the closet and saw it hanging and went awestruck. I straight away tried it on and woah, t'was an awesome feeling. And it must have meant Mum and I were about the same size in our 20's. Anyways, I had an idea. I'm planning to take like a vintage portraiture wearing the dress and yeah, we'll see how that goes.

It's been  bittersweet at work lah. On one hand, I enjoy my work, on another, I have to resign from it soon. But it's all for the better. I'm quite positive that, once I get settled down in Germany, take up a language course and maybe do my MBA, I would be able to find a job. Speaking of settling down in Germany, recently, Oliver and I had been looking at apartment where we're going to stay after we get married and we saw this one apartment that we really like. But the thing was, when Oli checked with the owner, there were 40 other people applying for it. So the owner told Oli and probably other applicants to write a letter to tell more about us, as tenant looking to rent the place so the owner could decide. And guess what, we got the place. Well, technically, Oli got the place but yeah, I'm so happy for him, for us. It goes to show that Oliver, my future hubby, is one of a kind lah. He out of 40 other applicants got the apartment. Isn't that great?

I think it is and I also think I ought to get back to work. I just felt like I haven't written anything here in ages. But oh well. Later.

Butterflies

It just hits me that it's March already and it's less than six months to the big day. I'm having the butterflies in my stomach as I write. The good kind. I was in Kuala Lumpur past weekend to look for my wedding dress and I found 3 dresses. One for the wedding ceremony, exactly what I wanted and the other two for the evening reception. Having a dress for the big day definitely lift up a huge burden on my shoulder and now, I can actually focus on other things like the invitations and whatnot.

A few other people around me are getting married as well. So, it does help to talk about wedding thingymajig with them as we're going through this pleasant ordeal.

I keep reminding myself amidst all these heebies jeebies of planning for the wedding, I'll be cool, grounded and just a relax bride to be. I hope I will by the end of it. Anyways, I got to get back to work. Oh, I'm gonna miss working in this desk of mine. Never mind the pressure. Ta.

Books & Cameras

Sometimes, we talk about our future home. How we both would like some space to call our own. Like Oliver, he would like to have a studio for his photography. For me, I'd like a corner with a nice comfy sofa, a standing lamp and a shelf of books. I was looking through Rachel Thurston photography blog when I came across this picture and I thought 'How ideal!'.
